LIVING A LEGACY
VRIL
My first Substack subscriber is a loyal old friend whose life has intersected with mine at pivotal times. With that in mind, I'm drafting this future substack post in a supportive direction that honors his spiritual life here in our hometown. Will apply to many folks on a traditional basis. This is a photo of an Episcopal church here that plants a good vibe right in the center of town. Note the buttress and brick architecture. The aesthetics of Old Europe have an energy that can't be found at tin quonset hut churches. The message inside this featured church is a testament to the historical continuation of meaningful life.
This building has been a living community center for the population at large. I'm not a church member but I attended dances in the connecting building with the doorway on the left. There must be an architectural term for such connecting hallways between Chapel and administration quarters?
We tend to both create and notice coincidences. This next image is a cover image for one of my ebooks. Stone with buttress design which looks like it could be in a ghost town. The effect of the light shining from within the old structure was not intended but arrived because of my attempt to use out-dated imaging from a scan. Yet I love the effect. Indicates and Eternal Light that shines from the spirit of God and the people who attended there.
Such Eternal Light goes with our loved one's when they transition to the next dimension. They are young and vibrant again while we maintain a physical presence in the world of aging and form. Yet the same Light is with us wherever we are.
Politicised changes can be introduced by the regime compliance of a centralized authority but the essential energy of the built structures are yours by heritage. Make your sovereign stand for what you know to be true. True to your loved ones, family, and community. Your God speaks through the numinous and through work.
Church and community are advocated by an excellent essay by Thomas E. Woods Jr. Here is a link to "Defending The Little Platoons." https://journals.ku.edu/amsj/article/view/2669/2628
Would I have preferred that this church structure be dedicated to Odin? No. What the West has built through dedication and earned prosperity deserves to stand as is. Yes, the vision of Guido von List in his youth that he would "construct a temple to the ancient god Wotan" is still possible. The Armanist and other runic traditions find expression in the Odian way rather than the Odinist way. Personal transformation through emulating the way of Odin is the way rather than worshiping from afar an external god. If structures to the continuation of the Germanic Tradition are to be built, let us make the effort of prosperity and educated skills that make this possible. I have spoken.
I know men of quality who are building standing steads to their purpose in Midgard and the transformative effect of connected regions of Yggdrasil. Personal responsibility is the key. Orlog and Wyrd (which could be seen as fate and destiny) are built by attentive effort to extended Vision. I saw this in the fairly recent acceleration of a culture of prosperity with family. My father was worthy of respect and his peers participated in that time of manifest quality. This was an establishment of Vision that I could have taken up. I dropped the ball on my watch so there is no construction and trucking company that brings employment to the extended community or prosperity into mine.
Personal responsibility to Orlog and Wyrd is the key. My regards to the amazing people who are doing this.
My attempt at documenting a potential revival of European Martial Arts was posted on a blog entry a couple years ago. I did not know about the phenomenal work of Fritz Maes so I’m making up for that here.
The warrior's lesson is to be aware of new developments and never give up hope. Through fortunate circumstances, I found out that a warrior scholar has a phenomenal presence at Academia edu. and has a few excellent books. Well-researched and attested ventures into a herteofore neglecte realm we thought had been lost in time. Fritz Maes has done considerable work and I’m reading this masterpiece at the moment :
"GERMAN CHIVALRY" by Fritz Maes is a quality book for the seasoned reader of esoteric lore, history, and meta-political trajectory. Yet the quality of the presentation will inform the neophyte reader in the very principles of Kraft true to Chivalric virtues. This work is carefully written with full respect for the higher intent of the reader. The quality is in itself an affirmation of the principles stated in the content.
The seasoned reader will meet respected old sources here like Carl Schmitt and the 'friend or foe' distinction. Writing on knightly orders should have such quality to transmit the very principles represented. This work by Fritz Maes does exactly that
The quality content confirms the very nature of Chivalric discipline.
Primary source Fight books and ethics combined for those interested in wisdom of ancient ways.
Strongly enjoyable and useful book ! "

LIVING A LEGACY
HOW TO CREATE A LEGACY : LIVE WELL TODAY
Live by what you know are eternal principles. What you create will be eternal. You
are building a place, not leaving. Posterity becomes more important as you get older.
Yet I've noticed that some of the best legacies have been created by men when they are young. It takes time to build. To know one's purpose when younger benefits the
following generations. A legacy should be a natural occurrence in the process of
aware living.
Not all cases of a legacy will benefit genetic children. One's own children are the ideal, yet sometimes the lineage breaks down through what might be a feature of the system rather than a defect in the system. I have no children at age 72. Grandnephews and grandnieces are of great interest to me but the choice of participating in what I advocate and pass along is up to them. I still live for a legacy that is energized by the continuance of something crucial and fulfilling. Quality thought advances the legacy of young people who can access true value, authenticity, accuracy, and memory at an early age (or any age) with genuine resources and teaching. For example: the mythic lore of Germanic heritage not taught in schools but vital to our being. Runes taught with accuracy and integrity are one example.
Another example is the lineage of a martial art as a physical generation and
regeneration that is highly influenced by centuries of masters. Some of this cannot
be taught in books. It is a process of heritage of a state of being. This is transmitted
by the very presence of a Master or those who are passing along the subjects of the
master. I'm more of a reader than a martial artist. But in reading people like Dr.
Maaski Hatsumi, Stephen Hayes, and Ivan Throne, I get the impression that there
is always something profound in the lore from past ages AS IT IS LIVED
TODAY. The heritage must be a living entity that is connected to a TRUE AND
ETERNAL PRINCIPLE.
Can a tradition - or an imagined frame of reference - be recreated in a different
time by different people? It's a lot of work if necessary. The wisdom taught by a
mentor or two of mine says that once we have mastered or familiarized ourselves
With a discipline, we can innovate from there. This respects the legacy. One of my
teachers went so far as to become a PH.D. in the academic side of a subject and
still advocate for equal time with intuition, imagination, and innovation.
As an example, I'll use the reconstruction of Medieval martial arts as a worthwhile
project undertaken by some. In the European arena we must use some hidden
bodies of work in literature and the physical presence of the artifacts of weaponry.
Now, in the Oriental Medieval martial arts there is a living tradition taught from
master to disciple through the centuries. I won't speculate on why that didn't
happen in the West or even if there is some continuance that does exist. I leave that
to the informed imagination.
Survival of European martial arts.

The potential for rigor of Academia remains in a latent state. Discipline of a
traditional corpus of knowledge can inform a more intuitive and imaginative
praxis. Tradition combined with innovation creates the best work. I'm a crackpot.
Good crackpot work requires genuine knowledge. Academia went wrong with
requiring PC trendiness rather than substance.
I've drifted away a bit from assaying personal and family legacy by looking at the
larger historical picture. You can use the same principles in rebuilding the legacy
of your ancestors and passing along your own legacy to descendants. Leave some
facts in biographical form by writing what you know of your recent relatives or
influences. I have told stories of the memories of my parents and grandparents.
Facts and their memories. My memories augment that and I include significant
other players in their lives and the tone of the times. There is inspiration in general
purpose there with some reflection on what absolutely must survive and be passed
down to energize a legacy.

VRIL : Bonus article
There is something in the air to make you strong, healthy, and fortunate. Do not
mask yourself off from that. Of course, this statement is relevant in today's climate
of compliant obedience. Yet it has been true since eons before there were social
trends as we know them today. The reality of something in the air precedes
language as we know it today but was always available as an integral energy of the
Multiverse.
A few ways of looking at this energetic presence which is a feeling as much as a
mental concept. First, we will look at Vril as an influence that (sometimes)
requires attention and practice to gain access. Keep in mind that if Vril is a
legitimate phenomenon it has been around around long before the current name
and definition. You sense it. You have seen it in action. Some history of the name and some current presentations:
The Coming Race is a novel by Edward Bulwer-Lytton, published anonymously in
1871. It has also been published as Vril, the Power of the Coming Race.
Helena Blavatsky praised Bulwer-Lytton in her works on Theosophy and Sci-Fi
writers like H.G. Wells were influenced by Bulwer's stories. The details of a
subterranean race and their social and physical aspects are not the main story of
why the concept caught on. It is Vril itself as an influencer of conditions that
caught the imagination beyond the landscape of the adventure stories.
Orgone was the term for the phenomenon used by Wilhelm Reich. Before him, in
1845, Baron Carl von Reichenbach studied the Odic Force. Bergson used élan vital.
Personal magnetism, persuasion, and electricity have been used to define Vril and
there were other proponents of research into an invisible presence. Vril. Orgone. Odic Force. Prana. Qi. Chi. élan vital. I know there are distinctions between these terms. Also a subset might be Mind as used in Science of Mind. A paradox maybe to use 'subset' since Science of Mind says "All is One."
A sense of well-being that is beyond words is experienced with the presence of
Vril. Some say that this is connected to libido. If you feel there is something good
connected to attraction you might be in this camp. I know I am.
Some good sources for studying the Germanic focus on Vril are Edred Thorsson,
Robert Blumetti, and Alfraec Avery.
Stay Cosmic,
